PIA plane crash draws outpour of grief

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain, among several renowned figures, have expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives in tragic PIA plane crash near Havelian. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan have directed concerned federal departments to immediately initiate rescue efforts and help the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. President Mamnoon Hussain has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in aircraft crash incident near Havelian. He also prayed for the departed souls and expressed condolence with bereaved families and directed the concerned departments to accelerate rescue operation at the site and cooperate with family members of passengers. The PIA aircraft ATR-42 turboprop plane, operating flight PK-661, crashed near Havelian with 47 passengers and crew members on-board. Renowned Naat Khwan and former pop singer Junaid Jamshed was also aboard the plane. The tragic incident has drawn an outpour of grief from almost everyone across the country. Political figures, celebs alike have been expressing the sorrow over the loss of precious lives on micro-blogging site Twitter and other social media platforms.

ISLAMABAD, DEC 07, (DNA) – Famous Islamic-preacher Junaid Jamshed, was also traveling in Islamabad-bound flight that crashed near Havelian on Wednesday.
