403 historical sites, monuments protected: Rashid

ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (DNA): Minister for Information and Broadcasting told Senate on Thursday that necessary steps have been taken for protection of archaeological sites in the country.In a written reply to a question, the Minister said the Department of Archaeology and Museums has protected 403 historical sites and monuments.He, however, said administrative control of the protected sites and monuments has now been transferred to the provinces concerned under 18th amendment of the constitution.

Iran supports Pakistan-brokered Afghan peace talks, says FF Javad Zarif

ISLAMABAD, 13 AUG (DNA) – The visiting Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, on Thursday backed the Pakistan-brokered peace talks between the Afghan gov’t and the Taliban and said the process will ensure security in the region.“Iran is very much supportive of peace security cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan and in the region in general and inside Afghanistan,” the Iranian Foreign Minister when asked about his country’s stance on the peace process.


PM voices optimism about outcome of Vienna agreement
