A joint initiative of Afghanistan and Turkey, the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process was established in November 2011 to provide a platform to discuss regional issues, particularly encouraging security, political, and economic cooperation among Afghanistan, its neighbours and regional partners in facing common threats, including counterterrorism, counternarcotics, poverty, and extremism, inter alia, through a set of six Confidence Building Measures (CBMs). Fiery sun in Southeast India takes lives of 230 in past 5 weeks
HYDERABAD: About 230 people have died since mid-April in a heat wave sweeping two southeast Indian states, officials said Saturday. More than 100 people have died from the brutal heat in Andhra Pradesh state in the last week, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the state’s top elected official, told reporters. Courts restores PEMRA chief Ch. Rashid
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has restored deposed chairman of PEMRA Ch. Rashid Ahmed. Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi annouced verdict on Monday. The President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain had sacked Ch. Rashid after summery from the prime minister. Ch. Rashid was appointed PEMRA chairman during PPPP government but ever since his appointment, a tug of war continued between him and the federal government.
