Indonesian envoy ambulance lands in India

ISLAMABAD, May 11 (DNA): Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan Burhan Muhammad who was injured in the Naltar incident on Monday left for Singapore for medical treatment, but his ambulance landed in India becuase his health deteriorated suddenly. Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch saw him off at the airport. Later talking to newsmen, Abdul Qadir Baloch said the Indonesian Ambassador has been sent to Burn Centre in Singapore for treatment. Workers’ remittances rise 16% to $15 billion

ISLAMABAD, May 11 (DNA): Workers’ remittances rise 16% to $15 billion in the first ten months of FY15 Overseas Pakistani workers remitted $14,969.66 million in the first ten months (July to April) of FY15, showing a significant growth of 16.06% compared with $12,897.91 million received during the same period in the preceding year.During April 2015, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to $1,640.58 million, whichis 4.0% higher than March 2015 and 25.06% higher than April 2014, the State Bank of Pakistan said.


Helicopter crash: Romanian ambassador thanks friends for their prays

Shaharyar optimistic about Pakistan-India Test series in December

NEW DELHI: Pakistan wants to host the first bilateral Test tour by India in eight years in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in December, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan said on Sunday after meeting Indian board chief Jagmohan Dalmiya in Kolkata.The tour, comprising three Tests, five one-dayers and two Twenty20 games is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) last year to play five series in the next eight years.


SC suspends election tribunal’s verdict on NA-125

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday suspended the decision of an election tribunal in Lahore which ordered for re-election in NA-125 constituency. A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, issued the order in response to a petition submitted by Khawaja Saad Rafique who was declared victorious during the 2013 general elections from the constituency.
