ISLAMABAD, SEP 30 /DNA/ – The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the CDA Labour Union on Thursday agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation to address civic and business-related challenges in the federal capital. This new ICCI CDA Labour Union cooperation aims to reaffirm their shared commitment to promoting a cleaner, more efficient, and investment-friendly Islamabad.

The understanding was reached during a visit by a CDA Labour Union delegation, led by its President Aurangzeb Khan and Secretary General Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, to the Chamber.

ICCI President Highlights Link Between Civic Efficiency and Economic Growth

Welcoming the delegation, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said that the prosperity of Islamabad is intrinsically linked with the efficiency of its civic institutions and the vibrancy of its business community. He observed that sustainable economic growth requires quality municipal services, modern infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment capable of attracting investment and generating employment. He highly appreciated the dedication of CDA employees and assured the delegation that ICCI would continue to work closely with all public institutions.

CDA Labour Union Pledges Constructive Dialogue for Worker Welfare

Secretary General of the CDA Labour Union, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, thanked the ICCI leadership and appreciated the Chamber’s efforts in safeguarding the business community. He said that the welfare of workers and the progress of trade and industry go hand in hand. Reaffirming that the CDA Labour Union believes in a democratic and peaceful struggle, he added that CDA employees deserve dignity, improved working conditions, and adequate welfare facilities. He stressed that all issues should be resolved through constructive dialogue.

Joint Commitment to Making Islamabad a Model Capital

Chairman ICCI Founder Group Sheikh Tariq Sadiq and former President Khalid Javaid noted that regular engagement between civic institutions and the private sector is essential. The session, moderated by former Senior Vice President Khalid Chaudhry, concluded by reaffirming the Chamber’s resolve to work closely with the CDA Labour Union. This strengthened ICCI CDA Labour Union cooperation is expected to help resolve civic issues more efficiently and contribute to making Islamabad a model capital.
