Zafar Bakhtawari meets Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar

LAHORE, AUG 24 /DNA/ – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that Chakwal is a district rich in mineral and natural resources and of course there is a huge potential for industrial and commercial development here.He expressed these views during a meeting with Secretary-General of United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari, Group Leader of Chakwal Chamber of Commerce Qazi Muhammad Akbar, President Haji Noor Sultan, Senior Vice President Moin Akram and Vice President Shaukat Rafiq Malik at Governor House today. A delegation of Chakwal Chamber of Commerce along with Member National Assembly Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry from Vehari apprised the Governor of Punjab about the problems of Chakwal. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that there is ample potential for the promotion of tourism in Chakwal and Chakwal district could be promoted as one of the best tourist destinations in Punjab and Tourist Resorts could be established.  Referring to the 35 small dams in Chakwal, he said that he would call for a report and review it and would also send the report to Punjab Chief Minister Mr.Usman Bazdar. Earlier, a delegation of Chakwal Chamber of Commerce  Highlighted the problems of Chakwal, he was requested to set up an industrial estate in Chakwal, improve the tourism of Chakwal and declare it as a tourist city of Punjab.  The certified small dams of Chakwal should be made functional for irrigation as these dams have the potential to irrigate up to one lakh acres of land of Chakwal and yet these dams had been failed to achieve this objective.
