Youth are Pakistan’s future, says Shireen Mazari
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen M Mazari has said that our youth were the future builders of Nation and all out efforts are being made to provide them facilities of sports and healthy activities so that they could take part in the development of country.
In this regard, the minister said to promote anti drug activities, sincere efforts are being made at all levels and we are committed to eliminate the menace of drugs from our society once and for all. In this regard, she urged the urged everyone to come forward and play their due role to enhance the awareness in this regard. She showed her commitment to allocate maximum possible resources for promotion of sports and anti drug activities.
Addressing as the chief guest at the Rugby match organized by Karim Khan Afridi Welfare Foundation (KKAWF) at the Pakistan Sports Board, Sports Complex Islamabad on Saturday in Islamabad, she appreciated the KKAWF for organizing the event and said that incumbent government would continue sincere efforts for positive and anti drug activities. She also lauded young players for their successful participation in the match and distributed the prizes and trophies among the winners of the rugby match and congratulated them.
On the occasion, Dr Mazari said that the basic aim of the event is to promote constructive recreational activities; indeed, there can never be two opinions about importance of sports in promoting healthy civic norms in any society. She said we are aware of our duties and efforts are being made to engage the youth in healthy activities like sports to discourage the use of drugs to save the future of Nation.
She said to eliminate this menace of use of drugs first we have to recognize the issue so that we could take pragmatic measures through comprehensive strategy to stop the drug use in this regard. She stressed the need of holding similar sports activities in entire country.
It is also the best contribution which one can make for ensuring better future of coming generations. The Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari has said that all out efforts would be made to encourage sports and anti drug activities in the country. Earlier on her arrival at the sports ground, she was warmly welcomed by the organizers. The event was also attended by large number of students, youth, players, members of civil society along with their family members.
