During lasy many years TV talks shows and other programmes have unmasked corruption of politicians and those who really matter in our country however unfortuantely majority of such people are still to be punished.

Our Tv, other electronic media and newspapers have played an very important role to unveil corruption in our society. Many scandals have been disclosed by the media but as said before nothing has happened to these people who have committeed corruption.

But it is quite encouraging to note that our military has onto to itslef a daunting task to purge the country of terrorists and miscreants who have destroyed our peace. For this valiant struggle against these anti social elements ostensibly our armed forces need appreciation and encouragement.

As a Pakistani I have seen the debate programs on the TV channels since 2001 and now I think most of the important role of these programs are almost done. Now we have to do something withour problems and do something practically for the Country. If we use our media in the right way, we can accelerate our speed for getting good economic results in Pakistan and make people participate in positive initiatives.

We are talking about the next generation TV programs.This is how it can be done:

• What about reality shows with aim to solve problems in local areas?

• For every show we can simply involve the local people, local media partners and invite the local responsibles/ politicians, officers in the shows for brainstorming and planning and coordination.

• The shows can show how local people with the local body solves their own problems. To ensure that the local politicians will do their part, we have to get theirc ommitmenton the TV live so they have to fullfill what they promise and bring them back in next program for telling wha tthey have done since the last program.

• To ensure that the loca lpeople also want to participate, we can promise some money prizes and other prizes for the participants.

It will not be easy in the beginning. But it’ s necessary to make people believe in themselves and teach them how to take their own future in their own hands and not only wait for the millitary and the government.  I’mtotallyconvinced and sure that whe none TV channel takes this challenge and make this happen, many others will follow and with that we will set a new media trend.
