Uzma appeals IHC for permission to travel India
ISLAMABAD, MAY 22, (DNA) – Indian woman Uzma, who married a Pakistani man, has submitted a medical report of daughter, asking the authorities to allow her to travel India.
During the hearing, Uzma’s lawyer appealed the court to permit his client to meet her daughter who is suffering from thalassemia after which the judge has summoned Tahir and Uzma to record their statements on Wednesday.
The court has also directed Tahir to present immigration form of Uzma on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, an Indian diplomat identified as Lalit Kumar Gehlot was barred from entering the court room without security pass.
Earlier, India contacted Pakistan Foreign Office and asked to provide Uzma’s details to them over which Foreign Office spokesperson responded that her case is currently in court and she will be repatriated to India once the legal requirements are fulfilled.
Uzma’s claims of being forced to marry on gunpoint were uncovered after her Nikkah video and whatsapp messages surfaced on media.
