US envoy gives awards to disabled women

ISLAMABAD, NOV 05 (DNA) – Disabled women face extraordinary challenges, from discrimination and exclusion from community activities to denied access to health care, education, and employment, said John Hoover Deputy Head of Mission US embassy.
He said however, some brave people in Pakistan are trying to change this.
John Hoover joined Pakistan’s First Lady Samina Alvi to give out the Khadija Tul Kubra Awards, which honored 16 extraordinary disabled women and their supporters who are fighting for women’s disability rights.=DNA
