UNSC convenes special session on Kashmir: Russia not to oppose resolution
NEW YORK (DNA). The UN Security Council has called emergency session of the Security Counil for tomorrow August 16, 2019.
Pakistan had requested the UNSC President for convening of the session in the wake of recent developments in the occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the Russian representative in the UNSC hinted at not to oppose the convening of the session.
Russian may also not oppose a resolution on Kashmir.
The Council is composed of 15 Members:
Five permanent members: China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms by the General Assembly (with end of term year):
