Unpaid security guards suspend metro bus service

RAWALPINDI, 17 AUG (DNA) – Employees suspended Rawalpindi metro bus service for the third time on Monday due to non-payment of salaries as promised by the Turkish Al-Burraq company, which has been awarded the contract to run the mass transit between the twin cities.
As per details, security guards staged protest against the local administration for continuously deferring their monthly income.
The security staffers threatened to halt the service on a permanent basis if their salaries were not released at earliest.
The protesters were chanting slogans against the Punjab government and the officials concerned of the Metro Bus Authority (MBA).
The commuters faced hardship as the buses were parked at different stations for more than five hours. DNA
