UAE, Pakistan vow to increase bilateral trade

SIALKOT, MAR 27 (DNA) – Hamad Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan visited Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry on March 27, 2018 to discuss prospects of increasing bilateral trade.

Mr. Zahid Latif Malik, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry shared that His Excellency the Ambassador of UAE was visiting Sialkot for the first time.

He emphasized that UAE has become hub of investments, exports technologies tourism and renewable energies and large number of Pakistanis are contributing in the UAE’s economic phenomenon.

 He mentioned that current bilateral trade although is satisfactory but strongly in favor of UAE. “Dedicated efforts were needed from both sides to further improve two-way trade”, he added. Furthermore, he suggested that both countries should facilitate single country trade exhibitions and encourage frequent exchanges of trade delegations.

 He also requested to H.E. in order to facilitate businessmen from Pakistan, special long term visas should be provided.

The President Chamber said that indirect sourcing should be discouraged which were hurting the Bilateral Trade. He assured to His Excellency Mr. Hamad Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, today’s meeting would help in further strengthening relationship in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Mr. Hamad Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan stressed that Sialkot is trade hub of Pakistan and the people of Sialkot were hard workers. H.E. assured his full cooperation to organize Single country Exhibitions between both the countries. He also promised to facilitate the businessmen of Pakistan in acquiring long term business visa. He appreciated the Law and order situation in the country and said that Pakistan was a safe Country.

The Ambassador of UAE further expressed his commitment for working with the Pakistani Government & Media to project a soft image of Pakistan around the globe.

He informed the house that Expo 2020 Dubai would be great opportunity for the Pakistani businessmen and especially for business community of Sialkot for establishing B2B contacts with the businessmen of 180 different countries.

Mr. Zahid Latif Malik along with Mr. Abdul Waheed, Senior Vice President, Mr. Abid A. Khawaja, Vice President, Dr. Muhammad Aslam Darr, Dr. Nouman Adrees Butt, Former Presidents SCCI, members of Executive Committee and many other members of Sialkot Chamber participated in the meeting.=DNA
