Two SC employees suspended for issuing Nawaz’s bail after court timings

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – The Supreme Court suspended two of its staffers for delivering the written order for Nawaz Sharif’s suspension of sentence in Al-Azizia reference case at Kot Lakhpat jail after the court timings.
On Wednesday, the apex court had directed authorities to release former prime minister Nawaz Sharif after he was granted a six-week bail on medical grounds.
The verdict was supposed to first reach the Lahore jail’s administration so they could release the three-time premier in light of the court orders.
The timings of the apex court end at 3:30pm.
The Naib Qasid of Supreme Court Lahore Registry, identified as Ali and dispatch rider Shahzad delivered the written orders after the court timings over which the top court suspended both employees.
The written verdict of Nawaz’s bail was sent to at 9pm.
Due to delay in delivery of the verdict, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief was released from the jail at around 12:45am.
Earlier in the day. it was announced that Nawaz would be taken to Sharif Medical City Hospital where his medical health will be evaluated to decide regarding his future treatment, said his personal physician Dr Adnan Khan.
