Transylvania is again ranked among the most beautiful travel destinations in Europe, next to other famous ones in such countries as Italy, Malta or Croatia. According to a ranking by Vagrants Of The World Travel, Transylvania is now among the most beautiful destinations in Europe worth visiting in autumn.

The travel website argues that “the shoulder season of autumn is the perfect time to experience the best of Europe.”

Transylvania is mostly appreciated for its colours of nature in the autumn, for its Gothic castles and local legends, but also for the mountains and cobblestone medieval cities like Sibiu and Brasov.

“The heavily wooded valley’s of Transylvania are often associated with the dark foreboding tales of creepy castles and mythological counts. A place of dark magic where the sun never quite shines,” says the description.

Of course, Dracula’s Castle is not forgotten in the references. “For the dark tourist, there is always the prospect of Halloween at the infamous Bran Castle; the home of Dracula.”
