Terrorism, extremism are common enemies of Pakistan, Iran: Rashid
ISLAMABAD, 14 APR, (DNA) – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that Pakistan wants to enhance cooperation with Iran in areas of trade, economy, science and technology, border management, parliamentary exchanges, culture and people to people contacts.
He was talking to Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.
The Minister said that terrorism and extremism are common enemies and we will have to make joint and concerted efforts to thwart the nefarious designs of terrorists to ensure peace and security in the region.
Iranian Ambassador said that the security of Iran and Pakistan is closely intertwined and Iran views Pakistan’s security as its own security.
He also held out an assurance that Iran will not allow use of its soil against any other country.
Matters relating to media cooperation between the two countries also came up for discussion during the meeting. =DNA
