Teacher training Program on Geography kicks off

ISLAMABAD, MAY 2: A teachers training workshop for geography teachers kicked off at Islamabad Model Postgraduate College (IMPC) H-8 on May 2, 2023. The Geography department of IMPC H-8, under the auspices of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), launched a training program for around 160 geography teachers of Islamabad schools and colleges.
The purpose of the workshop is to enhance the professional skills of the geography teachers and to provide them with the latest techniques and methodologies to make the subject more engaging and interesting for the students of grade VI-VIII.
In the opening ceremony, addressing to the trainees, Ms. Riffat Jabeen Director Academics (FDE) said that the launch of this training workshop for teachers by the geography department of IMPC H-8 is a commendable initiative that will go a long way in enhancing the quality of geography education in the ICT educational institutions. Dr Ali Ahmed Kharal Deputy Director General indicated that FDE is working continuously to update the educational methods of the schools.
Teachers need to remain up-to-date with the changing requirements of the students. Principal of the college, Dr Muhammad Khalid suggested teachers strive to better understand the subject that have resulted from the efforts of the FDE and the staff of Geography department of the college.
