Tariq Soomro becomes first Pakistani to be selected by IEEE Computer Society
KARACHI, MAR 20 /DNA/ – Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Acting Rector, IoBM, Karachi has become the first Pakistani to be selected by the IEEE Computer Society to the ‘Inaugural Class of IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Contributors’. This milestone recognizes Dr. Soomro’s contributions to society and the profession. Dr. Soomro is also the Dean of IoBM’s College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS). He is currently the Vice Chair of the IEEE Karachi Section. IEEE Computer Society, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Washington DC, USA, is a professional society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Its purpose and scope are to advance the theory, practice, and application of computer and information processing science and technology and the professional standing of its members.
