Swedish national day celebrated
ISLAMABAD, JUNE 07 (DNA) – The Swedish embassy celebrated national day of Sweden here the other day for which a sumptuous function was arranged at Ambassador’s residence. Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid was the chief guest.The information minister in his brief speech congratulated Swedish government on the nation day and hoped relations between Pakistan and Sweden would grow in the coming days.
The minister further said, bilateral relations between both countries have touched new heights in the recent years adding Pakistan was keen to further expand and promote relations with Sweden.
Earlier, Tomas Rosander the ambassador of Sweden in his speech said, “ we do not only celebrate the national heritage we are so proud of, based on solidarity, tolerance, openness and a deep respect for human rights and freedoms. We also celebrate our longstanding relations with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
He further said, we also celebrate all those who with enthusiasm and skills and dedication are striving to take this relationship further, to enhance contacts in all fields and encourage vivid dialogue on all issues.
“ I would like to direct special thanks to our sponsors, not only because of their highly appreciated generosity in supporting this event, but most of all because we are talking about companies, of Swedish origin or with strong Swedish links, that are truly part of the Swedish trademark.’
He said looking at the history of these companies they all have a background in individual entrepreneurship, not fearing to break new ground. Let these factors serve to guide us in our efforts to development further the Swedish-Pakistan relations.=DNA
