SJC proposed removal of IHC’s Justice Shaukat Siddiqui
ISLAMABAD, OCT 11 (DNA) – Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on Thursday recommended the removal of Islamabad High Court Judge, Justice Shaukat Siddiqui from his office over his controversial speech before the District Bar Association, Rawalpindi on 21 July, 2018.
The copy of the recommendation to remove the senior judge of IHC’s Justice Siddiqui has been sent to President Arif Alvi.
In his bombshell address to his junior fellows on July 21, Justice Siddiqui alleged that officers of Pakistan’s premier spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), were directly involved in manipulating the judicial affairs in the country.
The SJC had been conducting the proceeding in the reference against Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui over his aggressive speech against the country’s top spy agency.
