State will lose balance if judiciary doesn’t perform: CJP

ISLAMABAD, FEB 03 (DNA) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday has declared Parliament as supreme institution and said that state will lose balance if judiciary doesn‘t perform.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, CJP said that the lawyers are facing various challenges but they have to face the issues with courage and hard working. He said that he is not arrogant but is proud of being Pakistani.

The chief justice asked whether we are loyal to our motherland and serving it rightly. He said that a high-level meeting will be conducted to discuss China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

I got stunned by seeing the development in China. They work as a nation. We should also get united for the prosperity of our country, he added.

He further directed everyone to work with honesty.

Talking about the salaries of judicial officials, CJP revealed that average pay of a highcourt judge is Rs9 lac while Supreme Court (SC) judge takes more than that amount. Ensuring justice to the society is duty of judiciary, he continued.

Justice Saqib stated that judges should change their attitudes and should respect laws made by Parliament.
