Sri Lanka’s newly appointed PM resigns
COLOMBO, (DNA) – Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has resigned, seven weeks after President Maithripala Sirisena appointed him in controversial circumstances.
Sri Lanka’s Supreme Court had yesterday, ruled against the President’s dissolution of parliament last month, terming it unconstitutional.
