Sri Lankan organization donates 50 eye Cornea to Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, AUG 27 (DNA) –An NGO of Sri Lanka has donated 50 eye corneas to Pakistan during a ceremony held at the Prime Minister official residence.
A delegation from Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Pakistan Noordeen Shaheid met with the prime minister.
Sight Foundation of Sri Lanka headed by Ifthikhar Aziz donated eye corneas. The donation of eye corneas was initiated by Sri Lankan High Commission in Islamabad.
Prime Minister highly valued and appreciated the humanitarian gesture which would enable people of Pakistan to regain eyesight.
The Prime Minister further added that the relationship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan has been nurtured over decades through a continuous interaction at bilateral, regional and international levels.
Sri Lanka High Commission thanked the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, Major Gen. Jafrey (R) of CGSS and Aziz Boolani CEO of Serena Hotel for the contribution made by them to make the event a great success.=DNA
