Sri Lankan envoy hosts reception for his Cricket team
ISLAMABAD, DEC 16 (DNA) High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan N0ordeen Shaheid hosted a well-attended reception for this Cricket team.
A large number of diplomats and cricket lovers were invited to attend the reception. Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar was the chief guest while Zakar Khan Director represented the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The Sri Lankan captain while speaking on the occasion termed his first ever visit to Pakistan historic and said he would like to come again.
He said before coming to Pakistan he had a different perception about Pakistan, which was negative however upon reaching here he realized that it was a different country altogether.
He said Pakistani people are very hospitable and loving and he and his entire team felt at home in Pakistan.
The Sri Lankan high commissioner said the cricket diplomacy would surely bring both countries even closer.
He said both Sri Lanka and Pakistan enjoy excellent relations adding these relations are poised for a quantum leap given the fact that both sides are so keen to diversify bilateral relations.
He thanked the Pakistani officials and security institutions for making befitting arrangements for the team security.=DNA
