Sindh cabinet decides to oust IGP AD Khawaja, again
The Sindh cabinet decided on Saturday to replace provincial police chief Allah Dino Khawaja with Abdul Majeed Dasti.
IGP Khawaja’s services will be surrendered to the federal government.
The cabinet met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in the chair.
The chief minister said the government wanted to change the rules pertaining to police promotions, appointments and transfers to ensure they were line with the Constitution.
“We want rules and regulations that will improving the department’s performance and also ensure the writ of the provincial government,” he added.

The participants of the meeting were informed that Khawaja was appointed the IGP on an own-pay scale (OPS) basis in March 2016.
However, the Supreme Court has discontinued postings through the OPS system, compelling the Sindh government to return Khawaja’s services to Centre. It was decided that Dasti, a grade 22 officer, will be appointed the new police chief.
