Sherry Rehman calls UN Report a ‘diplomatic victory for Pakistan’
ISLAMABAD, Dec 19 (APP/DNA): Senator Sherry Rehman endorsed a UN report, describing it as a diplomatic success for Pakistan and stated that India has failed to respond, warning that Indian-sponsored terrorism could trigger a major conflict in the region.
While speaking exclusively to local media, Senator Sherry Rehman hailed the UN report as a significant recognition of Pakistan’s efforts on the international stage.
Senator Sherry Rehman said the UN report clearly states that India violated rules through cross-border incursions into Pakistani territory.
She emphasized that the report highlighted India’s involvement in international terrorism, adding, the UN had given India time to respond, but it failed to do so.
Responding a query, Sherry Rehman also pointed out that Indian nationals were linked to the Sydney shooting incident.
She further stated that the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) should investigate India’s role in terrorism, adding, the UN report also warns of the risk of major conflicts, noting India’s involvement in terrorism and violations of the Indus Waters Treaty.
She added that India currently has no response, whereas Pakistan remains a responsible nation that has consistently pursued peace.
