KARACHI, 04 FEB (DNA) – Famous cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi, who is also chairman of Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF), has been conferred the 8th Corporate Social Responsibility by National Forum for Environment and Health.

The ceremony to confer CSR award to Shahid Afridi was held here at a local hotel the other day where NFEH President Muhammad Naeem Qureshi presented the award to the SAF chairman.

The CSR award was conferred to Shahid Afridi in due recognition of his tireless services in sectors of education, health, youth development, promotion of sporting facilities. Foremost among these services is a charitable hospital having modern health facilities being run in native village of Shahid Afridi near Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On this occasion were Chief Executive Officer of Shahid Afridi Foundation Col (retired) Akram Afridi, its founding director Owais Mir, and General Manager of the foundation  Muhammad Musaddiq Aziz, NFEH Secretary Ruqiya Naeem, Vice-President of the forum Engineer Nadeem Ashraf, Anis Younus.

On the occasion, NFEH chief Naeem Qureshi appreciated services of Shahid Afridi for sports and social sectors including those related to youth.

also appreciated the services of Shahid Afridi Foundation, which at present had been working on a number of ideas and projects for resolving pressing social problems of youth and of other deprived sections of the society.

He said that NFEH had been in the practice of holding the ceremony to give away CSR awards regularly on annual basis for past eight years in order to duly recognize and eulogize corporate sector entities and persons striving hard in social sectors apart from doing their core business operations.

Speaki on the occasion, the SAF chairman eulogized services of NFEH saying that corporate sector did need due recognition owing to its contribution for resolving a number of genuine socio-economic problems persiociety.

He said that it was an honour for NFEH to hold the CSR awards on a regular basis for last eight years. NFEH is working on an environmental issues, tree plantation, awareness, training program and community development since 17 years in Pakistan. DNA
