Several ‘dead and injured’ as car hits crowd in Germany
BERLIN, APR 07 (DNA) – Several people were killed and injured Saturday when a car ploughed into pedestrians in the German city of Muenster, local media reports said.
Several people were killed after a vehicle drove into a crowd of people in the western German city of Muenster, according to local officials.
The incident was confirmed to dpa on Saturday by people familiar with the investigation. Local police said on Twitter that officers had been deployed to the scene and asked people to avoid or leave the city’s downtown in order for emergency personnel to work in peace.
According to the online edition of the Spiegel magazine, German authorities were “assuming” the incident was an attack, though there was no immediate official confirmation.
