Senate Special Committee on CPEC visits Gwadar
GWADAR, MAY 03, (DNA) – A delegation led by Senator Taj Haider, the Special Committee of Senate on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) visited Gwadar to observe the port city’s development and meet key stakeholders.
The team visited Medical Care Center being developed by China Red Cross Foundation, and met with the Chairman of Gwadar Development Authority to exchange notes on the development activities in the city.
The fast-paced development in Gwadar is changing the fortune of locals who are being provided with jobs and are becoming a primary part of Pakistan’s development agenda.
Senate special committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor during a visit to Gwadar has expressed the confidence that the project will boost economic activities in the entire region.
The twelve member committee led by Senator Taj Haider visited Gwadar Emergency Medical Care Center which is being constructed by China Red-cross Foundation at Gwadar Port.
Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Dostain Jamaldini briefing the delegation said that CPEC projects include roads, power projects, Railway tracks and other economic schemes.
He said that in the first phase power projects and National Highway projects are being completed while in the second phase industrial schemes will be initiated.
Senator Taj Haider said CPEC project will help provide jobs to locals.=DNA
