SC maintains sentences in ex-CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry’s case
ISLAMABAD, JUNE 06 (DNA) – Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Wednesday dismissed petitions and maintained the sentence handed over to eight officials of police department and Islamabad administration who manhandled former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Chaudhry.
As per details garnered, a five-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa heard the case and sent all officials to jail.
The officials include former Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Ali, former Islamabad IG Iftikhar Ahmed, SSP Islamabad Captain (retd) Zafar Iqbal, SSP Jamil Hashmi, DSP Rukhsar Mehdi and (retd) constable Siraj Ahmad.
