Romanian ambassador briefs FPCCI team about business prospects
ISLAMABAD, FEB 04 (DNA) – Dean of European Missions Emilian ION Ambassador of Romania has said, his country greatly valued its relations with Pakistan adding Romania is keen to welcome Pakistani investors.He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of FPCCI that met with him in his office. The delegation was led by Zafar Bakhtawari Vice President FPCCI.Ambassador Emilian further said, Romania offered a great deal of business opportunities to foreign investors due to which a large number of investors were now exploring new business opportunities in Romania.
The ambassador further said during his seven year tenure in Pakistan he had tried his best to promote and strengthen business as well as people to people relations between the two countries. He said, being a key member of European Union Romania was in a vantage position to help Pakistani products have easy access to European markets also.
He also talked about GSP plus status for Pakistan and underlined Romanian efforts to get this status for Pakistan. Ambassador Emilian added, political relations between the two countries were also constantly on the move. Exchange of high level delegations from both sides was a clear manifestation of strong bonds of friendship that existed between Romania and Pakistan.
Ambassador Emilian further said he was trying to arrange some more visits of Romanian and Pakistani high level officials with a view to giving new dimensions to already cordial and excellent bilateral relations.
He also briefed the FPCCI delegation about performance of Romanian Consulates based in Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Peshawar adding it was a hallmark of his tenure in Pakistan that he succeeded to open four consulates in Pakistan in a short span of time. He hinted at opening of a new consulate in Quetta also.
Zafar Bakhtwari the Vice President PFCCI assured the ambassador that the Federation would not only encourage Pakistani businessmen to go to Romania but will also assist the Romanian embassy in Pakistan with regard to promotion of bilateral relations.=DNA
