Romania, Pakistan have a lot in common, says ambassador
LAHORE, FEB 13 (DNA) – Ambassador of Romania Emilian ION has said his country greatly valued relations with Pakistan adding both countries have a lot in common. The ambassador said Romania is ready to help Pakistan have access to EU markets.The Romanian ambassador made these remarks while speaking on the occasion of national day reception arranged by Pakistan, Romania Friendship Forum in Lahore on Saturday. Punjab governor Rafiq Rajwana was the chief guest.
Ambassador Emilian further said he was greatly touched by the hospitality of the Lahore people. He added one of his main objectives were to cement people to people contacts between the two countries.
Ambassador Emilian praised efforts of Pakistan, Romania friendship forum and especially Anis Iqbal who had arranged the event.
Ambassador of Romania Mr. Emillion Ion appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in reaching out to Romania and assured cooperation in diverse sectors and admired Pakistan’s recent economic growth and its progress towards strengthening democracy.
He further added that Pakistan has greatest contribution in fighting the war against terror and has rendered huge sacrifices for the global peace and security. He assured that Romania will extend full cooperation to Pakistan on various multilateral forums.
He underlined the need for frequent exchanges of Parliamentary delegations for promotion of greater cooperation between the two countries. DNA
