Relations with Spain constantly on the move: Information Minister

ISLAMABAD, OCT 13 (DNA) – Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Fawad Chaudhry has said Pakistan’s relations with Spain are deep rooted and growing rapidly.

 

He made these remarks while speaking on the occasion of National Day of Spain.

 

The minister further said Pakistan offers huge investments opportunities to foreign businessmen especially therefore businessmen from foreign countries particularly from Spain should come to Pakistan and explore business opportunities.

 

He greeted the people and government of Spain on the national day event. The minister said Pakistan highly values its friendly relations with Spain.

 

He said our relationship is based on mutual respect and similarities of perception on global issues of mutual concern. The trajectory of Pakistan and Spain ties is positive and we are determined to make every effort to maintain it.

 

Pakistan he said looks forward to strengthening its relations with Spain in various fields. He hoped bilateral ties would get a further boost in coming days.

 

Ambassador of Spain Carlos Morales in his speech said relations with Pakistan are constantly on the move adding during his tenure as Spanish in Pakistan the trade volume increased by 25 per cent.

 

The ambassador further said now the trade volume between the two countries is now 1.3 billion USD. Spain has become the 6th destination for Pakistani exports.

 

He said he had also tried to enhance people to contacts in the fields of culture, education and tourism and now many Pakistani students are perusing their postgraduates’ studies in Spain.

 

The ambassador said, as the security situation improves in Pakistan, many Spanish tourists are coming to the Northern Areas every year.

 

Over one hundred thousand Pakistanis are living and working in Spain for making our two societies better understand each other.

 

He also thanked his embassy staff for extending to him full support during his stay in Pakistan. He said he is soon leaving Pakistan after completing his term but assured people that he will be ambassador of Pakistan to Spain and elsewhere.=DNA
