Women center inaugurated at RCCI

Rawalpindi: The state of the art center for women entrepreneurs, Women Business Incubation Centre (WBIC) has been inaugurated formally at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Monday. Ambassador of Nepal Sewa Lamsal Adhikari, Ambassador of Tajikistan Jonov Sher Ali and High Commissioner of Srilanka Maj. General retired Jayanath Lokuketagodage were the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing a large gathering of women entrepreneurs, Nepal envoy lauded RCCI efforts for empowering women and said that WBIC will help women entrepreneurs to establish and run their own businesses. She said this center will enable women to get practical knowledge of entrepreneurship. I am hopeful that other chamber s will follow the footsteps of RCCI. She assured her full support for providing training, support and mentorship for women entrepreneurs in Pakistan.  Sewa Lamsal also appreciated RCCI for organizing trade exhibitions in Nepal every year. A twenty member trade delegation including women business men from Nepal will soon visit Pakistan to improve trade ties, she further added.

President Raja Amer Iqbal on this occasion said that the main purpose of this initiative was to provide women a platform to excel in the field of entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the key features of WBIC. He said that RCCI will provide tailor-made trainings, hold seminars, training programs and business plan competition to create awareness among Women Entrepreneurs regarding product development, pricing, packaging and export marketing etc.

More than sixteen offices have been given to women to run their own business for four months he added.

Senior Vice President Rashid Waien, Vice President Asim Malik, Group leaders Sheikh Shabir, Sohail Altaf, SM Naseem, former presidents, Chairperson Women Entrepreneurship committee Mavish Afridi, chamber members and a large number of working women attended the ceremony. A cake cutting ceremony was also held.
