RAWALPINDI, SEPT 30 (DNA)-  The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a globally recognized music maestro, to give a unique send off to the outgoing President Zahid Latif Khan.

The mega gala night was attended by thousands of people hailing from various walks of life. The hallmark of the event was special appearance of ambassador of over 25 counties clad in Pakistani national dress. They thoroughly enjoyed the music gala.

Before Rahat performance another legendary artist of Pakistan Ustad Rais Ahmed enthralled the audience with melodious tunes on violin. The Pride of Performance Ustad Rais started with a milli naghma and then played famous Pakistani old songs. In the end he also presented a medley that particularly amused the foreign guests as the tunes included some Western touch also.

Ustad Fateh Ali Khan presented a mesmerizing performance and received standing ovation from the audience.

He started with “Hamd’ and then Naat followed by his all-time famous songs such as Afreen… Afreen, Tuhian Dil Laghi Bhool Jani Paray Gee, Meray Naqash Qamar etc.

Earlier the outgoing President Zahid Latif Khan, in his address thanked the RCCI for giving him such a lavish send off. He said he will remember this for eve.

Zahid Latif Khan especially thanked the diplomats who attended the event in shalwar qameez, thus adding color to the event. He said the RCCI would continue to hosting such events even in the coming days.

Other speakers who spokeon the occasion paid glowing tributes to Zahid Latif Khan for performing so well in his one year stint at the President of RCCI. They said Zahid Latif instilled a new spirit in the RCCI and set some worth emolating precedents.=DNA
