Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has elected Nosherwan Khalil Khan as President, Waseem Aslam as Senior Vice President, and Ikram-ur-Rehman Abbasi as Vice President for the term 2026-28, all unopposed.

The three-member Election Commission, comprising Tariq Mughal, Saqib Daud, and Zahoor Ahmed Malik, announced the results following the scrutiny of nomination papers for the posts of President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President.

According to the Election Commission, Nosherwan Khalil Khan (President), Waseem Aslam (Senior Vice President), and Ikram-ur-Rehman Abbasi (Vice President) were declared elected uncontested. Similarly, Saima Dastagir and Sadia Niazi were elected unopposed to the reserved seats for Women Entrepreneurs.

As all candidates were elected uncontested, polling for the posts of President, Senior Vice President, Vice President, and the reserved seats for Women Entrepreneurs will not be held. The newly elected office-bearers will assume their respective offices on October 1, 2026.

RCCI President Usman Shaukat, Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Vice President Fahad Barlas, former presidents, members of the Executive Committee, and other participants congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and the entire executive team.

They expressed confidence that the new leadership would continue serving the business community with the same passion, dedication, commitment, and hard work demonstrated during the election campaign. They also pledged to continue raising the genuine issues of the business community and working for their resolution.

Speaking on the occasion, Group Leader Sohail Altaf said that the Mian Parvez Aslam Group secured more than 90 percent of the votes in the RCCI elections, describing the result as a strong endorsement of the group’s policies and performance.

He said the election results had decisively rejected the opposition’s propaganda and politics, adding that the opposition had been defeated by a huge margin.

“Traders and RCCI members have expressed their confidence in the Mian Parvez Aslam Group. We have maintained a clean and positive political approach and refrained from making allegations against our opponents,” Sohail Altaf said.

He added that the excellent voter turnout was a clear reflection of the confidence and trust placed by the business community in the Mian Parvez Aslam Group. “The group deserves the right to provide true and effective representation to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” he concluded.
