Rain in Capital: administration on alert as monitoring continues across ICT
ISLAMABAD, May 4: Intermittent rain continues in Islamabad as district authorities remain on alert, with teams deployed across the city to manage the situation and ensure smooth traffic flow.
According to the spokesman of ICT administration, rainfall has been reported in different areas of the federal capital at intervals. In response, the district administration has activated field operations. Officers are present in various localities to oversee conditions and respond to any issues that may arise due to the weather.
Assistant Commissioners have been assigned to monitor low-lying areas and drainage channels. Their focus is to prevent water accumulation and ensure that rainwater flows without obstruction. Teams are keeping a close watch on vulnerable areas where water buildup can disrupt daily activity.
The traffic police have also increased their presence on major roads. Additional personnel have been deployed to manage vehicle movement and reduce congestion during rainfall. Officials said efforts are underway to keep traffic moving and avoid blockages.
Authorities have urged residents to remain careful during wet conditions and to follow traffic guidelines. The administration stated that all relevant departments are working in coordination to handle the situation and maintain normal routine across the city.
