PTI’s Memmood Khan elected KP CM
PESHAWAR, (DNA) – Mehmood Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has been elected as chief minister Khyber Pakhtwnkha.
According to final results, Mehmood Khan got 77 votes, while Muthahida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA) Mian Nisar Gul received 33 votes.
After this election, PTI has become the only party in the political history of KP to form a government for the second consecutive time in the province.
The provincial assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh will elect their respective chief ministers on Thursday.
In Sindh Assembly, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-the party with the majority-has once again nominated Syed Murad Ali Shah as the chief minister. Meanwhile, the joint opposition has nominated Shahryar Mahar as their candidate for the post.
