PTI core committee rejects demand of PM’s resignation, re-elections

ISLAMABAD, Nov 02 (DNA): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core
committee on Saturday decided not to accept any unconstitutional demand
of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) including the prime minister’s
resignation.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss the
prevailing current political situation in the wake of JUI-F’s Azadi
March, in the federal capital.

The meeting strongly condemned statements against the institutions by
Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and it was decided not to tolerate such language
of the opposition leaders.

“Pakistan’s image is improving due to sacrifices of the institutions and
people of the country.”

The meeting also appreciated untiring efforts of PM Imran Khan for the
progress of the country.

PTI core committee’s meeting was held to deliberate on Azadi March and
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) Chief Fazal-ur- Rehman’s deadline.

Sources said the core committee of PTI also rejected demand of
re-elections in the country. The meeting decided that unconstitutional
demands of opposition would not be entertained.

By such tactics opposition is trying to stop accountability in the
country. The members noted that opposition was allowed to hold protest
in federal capital by accepting their constitutional right.

Moreover, PTI core committee decided that government would take action
and law would be implemented if marchers breached the agreement. The
meeting condemned the language used for national institutions and
statements regarding arrest of PM Imran Khan.

The meeting decided that bad language for national institutions would
not be tolerated as these institutions work for national security.

It was discussed in the meeting that Pakistan is progressing due to the
efforts and sacrifices by these institutions and it was due to these
institutes that peace prevails in the country today.

The core committee also hailed the efforts of Special Assistant Firdous
Ashiq Awan for representing government’s stance in an effective way. PM
directed other leaders to support Awan in promoting party’s stance in
such conditions.

Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, head of government’s negotiation
committee, briefed the meeting about contacts and talks with opposition.

Interior Minister on the occasion said government would not let
protestors affect rights of citizens of federal capital.

On the other hand sit-in protest led by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl
(JUI-F) in Islamabad enters its second day.

Addressing the participants of the Azadi March in Islamabad on Friday
(yesterday), Jamiat JUI-F chief Fazal-ur- Rehman blasted the PTI
government and gave the prime minister a two-day ultimatum to step down.

He had said his party and the people cannot endure this government’s
policies, so either PM Khan should resign from his post within two days
or he will announce a future strategy. DNA
