President stresses protection of women at workplace
ISLAMABAD, 10 JUNE, (DNA) – President Mamnoon Hussain says protection of women against workplace harassment is inevitable for their effective participation in national progress and prosperity.
He was talking to Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Justice (Retired) Yasmin Abbasi in Islamabad Friday.
President Mamnoon Hussain said that effective participation by women in the workforce is necessary to ensure national development but to achieve this objective they must be provided with confidence and security for which Federal Ombudsman for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace plays a vital role.
The President advised the Federal Ombudsman for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace to redress the grievances of workingwomen and effectively use advanced technology so that women do not have to travel far distances for provision of justice.
The President also said that the concerned departments will be directed to resolve the problems of Federal Ombudsman for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Secretariat. =DNA
