President of Uzbekistan and Prime Minister of Pakistan considered the issue of promoting the Trans-Afghan Railway project

On the sidelines of the CICA summit, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The issues of expanding practical cooperation between the two countries in accordance with previously reached agreements were considered.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan called for the effective use of the existing potential and broad opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, investment, innovation, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
In order to promote a peaceful settlement and socio-economic development in Afghanistan, prospects for the implementation of the strategic project for the construction of the Termez – Mazar-e-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway were discussed in detail.
