President confers Nishan-i-Imtiaz on Chairman JCSC, Army Chief
ISLAMABAD, December 31 (DNA): President Mamnoon Hussain Saturday conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mehmood Hayat and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa in a special investiture ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Federal Ministers, Services Chiefs, DG ISI, parliamentarians and high ranking civil and military officials were also present on the occasion.
The President conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (M) upon CJCSC, General Zubair Mehmood Hayat and COAS, General Qamar Javed Bajwa in recognition of their long meritorious services.
Later, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Zubair Mehmood Hayat and Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on President Mamnoon Hussain.
The President congratulated them on being decorated with the highest military award and hoped that the country will benefit from their professionalism and vast experience.
The Nishan-e-Imtiaz is one of the state organized civil decorations of State of Pakistan. It is the highest honour given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their achievements towards world recognition for Pakistan or an outstanding service for the country.
The award is not limited to citizens of Pakistan and, while it is a civilian award, it can also be awarded to military personnel and worn on the uniform. DNA
