ISLAMABAD, FEB 22 (DNA) : President Dr. Arif Alvi will bestow the highest civilian award and honorary citizenship of Pakistan on Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy on March 23.
According to details, President Alvi has signed the summary of awarding Pakistani citizenship to the West Indian player for his invaluable contribution to cricket in Pakistan.
Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi termed the decision as a reflection of emotions of all those who love cricket and Pakistan. Darren Sammy’s services in bringing international cricket back to Pakistan are unforgettable, he said.
Javed Afridi, while thanking Allah the Almighty and the government of Pakistan, said that Peshawar Zalmi have been honored that their captain is chosen for the highest civilian award of Pakistan.
