Powerful explosion rocks Quetta’s Saryab Road
QUETTA, (DNA) – A powerful blast on Saturday hit a bus stand near Dukani Baba Chowk located at Saryab Road in Quetta.
According to initial reports, rescue teams have been sent to the explosion site to shift the victims to the hospitals. The officers said that causalities are feared as the blast was also heard in far flung areas.
The security forces have cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation.
Earlier, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Hamid Shakeel Durrani among three officers embraced martyrdom in a suicide blast in Quetta’s Chaman Housing Scheme. The blast occurred when AIG Hamid was going to office from his house.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ramzan and driver Jalil Ahmed also lost their lives while nine other officers sustained severe wounds in the explosion.
Two police vans and motorcycles also got damaged in the blast.
