PM will inaugurate Lyari Expressway on 3rd week of Jan 2018
KARACHI, JAN 03 (DNA) – Major projects in Sindh province have been completed and Lyari Expressway track-2 will be inaugurated by the Prime minister third week of January 2018.
According to the National Highway Authority (NHA) spokesman, told that FWO completed its major projects in Sindh province among a Lyari Expressway track-2 over 80 percent has completed in Karachi, while its controversial small portion is still delayed local issues.
He also confirmed that rest of the work will be completed in due course of time and inaugurated by the Prime Minister in third week of January 2018.
The Nation has learnt that under the CPEC objectives major projects are about to complete in 2018 by the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) in Sindh province and the network of roads would play an economic development role in the area.
Karachi Thatta Dual Carriageway (KTDC) under Build, Operate and Transfer (BoT) three lanes project both side in the localities of Gaghar, Dabejhi, Gharo, Sultanabad, Gujj & Makli to Thatta district will also be completed in March-Apirl 2018.
Similarly, Karachi – Hyderabad Motorway (M-9) is also under Build, Operate and Transfer (BoT) project of 134 km dual carriageway along with bridges, Interchanges and culverts about to to complete and hoped next month of 2018 inauguration.
The officials disclosed that M-9 dual carriageway at Hyderabad and Karachi would prove a new economic progress of development after expansion of cities under CPEC objectives.
Similarly, Gwadar port connecting Sindh Baluchistan Khuzdar-Shahdadkot project (total 151 km) 3 sections divided into three packages including Package-1 from Shahdadkot 57.5 km completed, Package-2 around 42.5 km is also complete and Package-3 51.1 Kilometers completed, while bridges and other structures completed, so that the road is open for all kinds of traffic and project is expected to be duly completed in March 2018.
It is pertinent to mention here that the project was delayed after super floods 2010, waterlogged & hard cutting areas as well as non availability of funds some other officials told.=DNA
