PM Shehbaz meets air chief, praises PAF’s role in national defense

ISLAMABAD, AUG 26 /DNA/ — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu to discuss the professional affairs and strategic priorities of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
During the meeting, the Prime Minister paid glowing tribute to the PAF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s skies. He lauded the air force as a “steel wall” in the defense of Pakistan, emphasizing that its personnel—referred to as the “Falcons of the Nation”—have consistently demonstrated courage and excellence in the face of adversity.
Referring to the recent conflict dubbed the Ma’raka-e-Haq (Battle of Truth), Prime Minister Sharif praised the PAF for delivering a decisive blow to the enemy by successfully downing hostile aircraft. “Our air warriors struck with precision and valor, sending a clear message that Pakistan’s sovereignty is non-negotiable,” he stated.
The meeting also included a detailed exchange on the operational readiness, modernization efforts, and strategic vision of the air force. Air Chief Marshal Sidhu briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing initiatives to enhance aerial capabilities, including advancements in cyber warfare, electronic defense systems, and joint operational training with allied nations.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s full support for the PAF’s modernization and strategic goals, noting that a strong air force is essential for maintaining regional stability and national security.
This meeting comes at a time when Pakistan’s defense forces are being recognized for their role in maintaining peace and responding to external threats with professionalism and resolve. The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect a broader national sentiment of pride and gratitude toward the armed forces, particularly the PAF, for their role in defending the homeland.
