PM praises as additional 70,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice to be exported to Malaysia
ISLAMABAD, Oct 2 (DNA): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appreciated the relevant ministries and authorities for their concerted efforts, which have successfully secured an additional export volume of 70,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice to Malaysia for the period spanning October to December 2026.
The prime minister, in a statement, said that the export of an additional 70,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice marked a vital milestone toward fostering farmers’ prosperity and strengthening the national economy, according to a PM Office statement.
He emphasized that expanding global market access for Pakistani agricultural commodities was a government priority, as it would continue its journey toward export-led economic growth through persistent dedication and hard work.
The achievement of an additional 70,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice to Malaysia reflects effective diplomatic and commercial endeavours aligned with the prime minister’s vision, the statement added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz commended the dedicated team behind this milestone, specifically praising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, federal ministers and federal secretaries of National Food Security and Commerce for their commendable contributions.
