PM Nawaz, army chief visit Sehwan Sharif
SEHWAN SHARIF, FEB 17, (DNA) – Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif presided over a meeting on Friday, a day after a blast rocked shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
The meeting that vowed to not let sacrifices of the martyrs go in vain was attended by Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Federal Minister for Finance, Ishaq Dar among other dignitaries.
The visit of the army chief and the premier has come in the next day of a suicide blast at shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar that claimed at least 88 lives and wounded over 200.
During the meeting, the participants discussed involvement of a foreign hand in the attack and vowed to trace all those responsible for the deadly attack. The premier ordered all the institutions and authorities to launch full-scale crackdown against operatives of banned outfits. He directed for implementation of a zero-tolerance policy.
Nawaz Sharif declared nabbing of handlers of the operatives crucial for success in war on terror. He also directed all law enforcement agencies to utilise all sources to eliminate terrorists.
Sehwan Sharif attack was the seventh terror attack in five days in four provinces and the government held terrorists in Afghanistan responsible for the fresh wave of terrorism.
The army chief summoned Afghan officials to General Headquarters today and demanded the neighbouring government to handover 76 ‘most wanted’ terrorists.=DNA
