PM Khan to pay fine if residence not regularized: CJP
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Ensuring supremacy of the law, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Tuesday remarked that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will be the first one to pay fine and get his residence regularized.
He made these remarks in case pertaining to illegal constructions in the suburbs of the federal capital Islamabad.
CJP also made it overtly clear that apex court will not allow construction of new buildings till the task of regularization is not concluded.
As the hearing went underway, CJP—while addressing PM Khan’s legal counsel Babar Awan—remarked that statement of imposing fine on premier is apolitical while adding that premier would be the first one to pay fine if property isn’t regularized as per existing rules.
CJP added that demolishing constructions and encroachments wouldn’t be justified despite they violated existing procedures.
