PM to inaugurate Lyari express after 15 years since groundbreaking

KARACHI, JAN 28 (DNA) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate Lyari Expressway today after 15 years since groundbreaking on Sunday.
Lyari Expressway has cost 20 billion rupees since its groundbreaking on 11 May 2002. The initial cost had been estimated to be around 5.1 billion rupees.
In order to build this project, around 15 thousand households had to be relocated and duly compensated monetarily.
One track of the expressway is 16km long which connects the highway to Maripur road.
